Definitely a decent game!

I quite liked the artistic style of the game, the use of the grainy textures worked well with the whole aesthetic of Madness and the animation was pretty good as well. I guess my main issue with the game is that some things need to be neatened up a little bit so that it plays smoother. For instance at the start when it tells you the controls, that could be done a lot quicker so that you're not left walking around the first room wondering how to get out.

Overall, the controls were fairly responsive but I did feel like in some situations the combat could be more exciting. For example, I really think you should have made the character you're currently not controlling be controlled by AI as it's difficult to make the most out of the duo when one is always just walking around not shooting. Also some of the enemy AI could be toned a bit, for example when I was first fighting the Auditor, he just kept teleporting and reappearing in exactly the same spot making it very easy to beat him.

Anyway, I hope you make a sequel next year and like I mentioned before I thought the overall style of the game was well presented, so great job.

Spudzy responds:

Thanks alot for the great review, I probably will be making another Madness Game next year so keep an eye out for it!

Decent Game

I did like the game, it was certainly very original and had some funny, memorable moments. My only real criticism is that for most of the times when you have to pick a method of doing something you have to rely on the process of elimination considering that it was pretty random. And I know it's meant to be that way but it would be nice if it was a little more interactive. For example, once you pick a method you can then click another deciding factor whilst the animation is playing to determine another outcome. But I still had fun, keep up the work!

PuffballsUnited responds:

Hmm yeah that's a good idea. The only problem is, the more paths I add the larger the game gets.

not great

I wasn't too keen on this game to be honest, mainly due to the low quality graphics and the inconsistent art style. It also seemed to me that the perspective views in most of the rooms were not accurate. For example in the garage, Snakebite's car is drawn from a back view when it should be a perspective view to match the background. Also some of the animation was pretty questionable, the main walk cycles for Snakebite are quite odd, it sort of looks like he's half asleep and stumbling along. Anyway there were some good points to the game. I liked the voice acting and the choice of music used, also in the beginning cutscene I thought the lip synching was good.

All in all this game isn't my cup of tea but it's obvious that you've put some effort into it, good luck in future games.

YoinK responds:

well it's all a learning process... sorry it wasn't your cup of tea Nicholas.. :(

Pretty weak game

I'm really not feeling it, the preloader was odd, I mean how come we have to wait for it to officially load up then we have to wait an additional 15 seconds or so for the music to load and all that? I didn't like the music, you're meant to be creating this new brand of platform creation, so don't drag other copyrighted brands into it to confuse things. Also, this is version 8? I wonder what version 1 was like...Keep at it, hopefully with a few more version it will come together a bit more, good luck in future projects.

Gimmick responds:

Um...the preloader inside the preloader is just an initializer, but....this isn't version 8. It's version 0.8.

Great Game!

I loved the art style of this game, it really went well with the music and gameplay elements. Also this game is great for getting medals, I was getting loads of medals left, right and centre...LITERALLY!

But yeah, great game, hope to see you guys release more games in the future.

MarcyVF responds:

Thanks haha! Yeah, medals sure are fun. Just hope they'll work right soon.

No good.

The graphics were really not very good, the game play was standard and had a very steep learning curve. Whenever you die, you have to press like 3 buttons to get back to playing and that's just annoying. Please work harder on the next game, you have some potential.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Thanks for the helpful review! Of course this has potential and everything, if you note I made this when I was 14 though so I am much better than I was.

Seriously Liked this!

Yeah man, this was really fun. I really enjoyed the gameplay and I loved the coin/unlock system. I think you should definitely make a split screen two player version or even an online version! As for the bugs, I did notice a few, unfortunately, I'll note some down now so you can fix them later:

-On the level 'Shaft' if you take your guys past the elevator and keep going to the right, you reach a white space and if you make your guys move into it, the game will crash your computer until you deactivate the game script.
-Also on the level 'Shaft' if you make one of your guys go into the elevator and press him up against the left wall of the elevator, he will be transported to the finishing flag.

They're the only main glitches I've found, one thing I would say though is to not have to do that tutorial level everytime you play it again.

Anyway, this is a fantastic game and I wish you all the best for your future projects!

I-smel responds:

Okay thanks. I'm thinking of updating, but Newgrounds stops me every time to say YOU'LL LOSE ALL AWARDS AND TROPHIES N SHIT IF YOU UPDATE IT NOW. So I'm kind of deciding on it.

No way are you getting online multiplayer. I'd have to be a rocket scientist to get that shit sorted.

Oh, and press Enter to bring up the pause menu and GO BACK to go to the level select. You can do this even in the tutorial level.

Dissapointing...

It's almost identical to the last one and in any case, isn't it just Krinkel's artwork ripped off, put on a stage with a drag and drop function? The only new feature here is the rotating thing and it turns out you got someone to code that!

F1Krazy responds:

No, I got someone else's code and used that.

These aren't even Krinkels' sprites, they're sprites I made myself.

Awesome!

JonBro let me play this like 2 months before he released it here, I was very flattered! Great job JonBro, but I had to skip frames on the raw .swf to get the end as the questions were very tricky. But tricky is good, people will play it more or they will just get a walkthrough.

=D

JonBro responds:

Thanks! I can type you up a walkthrough if you want one =)

needs work

I don't like soundboards because you haven't actually taken the time to add your own work in there. All there is are sound clips which aren't yours and i'm sure are copyrighted and graphics which aren't yours. Also, I think it's pretty cheeky to put an ads preloader at the start don't you think? Anyway, pretty good sound board as sound boards go.

MilkMan268 responds:

Meanwhile, your Newgrounds Pass fails even harder.

Seriously, how else do I make a Solid Snake soundboard? With my own voice? And the little ad at the beginning is the least of your problems

I am a cartoon robot thing
